Anna first found her love for the beauty industry at the age of 15 and first created Avoca over 6 years ago. Being a busy single mum to 3 beautiful kids – Anna understands the importance of, often very limited, self-care time for busy parents.

The inspiration for the Smithfield clinic was to create a high-end luxury sanctuary where clients could completely disconnect from the outside world, while being in a super convenient and bustling location. Avoca Cosmetology believes in quality over quantity, which has set them apart from your typical shopping centre clinic and defined them as a clear leader in the FNQ cosmetic and beauty industry.

Dion - Cosmetologist

Dion understands the importance of self-care. Whether it be a relaxation massage or facial, advanced skin treatments or sculpting the perfect brow - Dions natural ability to create the warmest, relaxing, and healing space is his secret to ensuring every client feels safe, heard, and cared for. With a result-driven approach to advanced skincare, and in-depth knowledge of skin, treatments and products, Dion loves taking his clients on their skincare journey and making real changes in their skin and lives.

Maggie - Cosmetologist

Maggie’s passion is skin, she loves everything about the treatment process and walking her clients through every step of their skin journey. Maggie is qualified in advanced skin treatments and has a thorough knowledge of product ingredients and specific skin concerns, battling her own skin struggles Maggie had an intense desire to understand and treat troublesome skin, and now offers this knowledge when treating her loyal following of clients.

Mafi - Cosmetologist

Mafi comes to our Avoca family with her incredible drive and love for the industry, this shows through with her perfection and attention to detail with every treatment for every client she sees! Mafi was originally from Melbourne and now plans to make Cairns home. She has an infectious smile and the gentlest loving nature so we are sure she will fit right in.

Jen - Cosmetic & paramedical tattoo artist, JenerationInk

Jeneration Ink was founded in 2014 by Jen Kinnane. Jen's love of aesthetics started in 2003 when she completed a Diploma in Makeup and Special Effects.

Her eye for detail and artistic ability saw her enhance and transform hundreds of faces around Australia at Fashions shows and events. Struggling with adult acne, Jen then studied for a Diploma of Beauty Therapy in 2005. She wanted to learn how to help other people who suffered the same condition. After several years in the beauty industry, Jen's passion for knowledge saw her transition into Dermal Science and she opened her business in 2014.

Results-driven and eager to expand her skills and further help more people, Jen was invited to train with Australia's leading cosmetic tattoo academy and commenced tattooing eyebrows, lips and eyeliner from 2017. From here she developed her skills and became certified in paramedical tattooing. Being highly sort after for natural enhancements, Jen is also a certified Scalp Micropigmentation Specialist, offering non-surgical, permanent hair loss procedures.

Through yearly advanced national and international training courses, Jen strives to offer the very best in techniques and industry knowledge, offering mentorship programs for newly trained artists, and contributing to raising industry standards.

Karen - Cosmetic nurse, DermFit

Karen Wescott completed a Bachelor of Nursing Science at James Cook University in 2007 after which she moved south to complete the Graduate Nurse Program at Hunter New England Health in New South Wales. After 2 years working at the Mater Private Hospital in Townsville Karen made the decision to pursue the area of Cosmetic Nursing, before long she completed post-graduate studies in Cosmetic Nursing and Dermal Therapies. which allow her to specialise in performing advanced skin treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, hydrodermabrasion, skin needling and light-based treatments.

As a cosmetic nurse injector, Karen is passionate about working with her patients to help them feel beautiful in their own skin. Through her career progression, Karen has learned the absolute importance of continued education and professional development and keeping abreast of changes, trends, and advancements in the industry through ongoing education. Karen also loves to share this understanding with her patients to support treatment recommendations.

Lianna - Cosmetic nurse, DermFit

Lianna has been a cosmetic nurse for several years after an extensive and varied career in nursing. She loves making close connections with her clients and helping them on a journey of self-care while naturally and progressively achieving their goals to help each client age beautifully. Lianna is all about growth and experience, so when the opportunity to partner with Avoca Cosmetology presented itself is was a natural fit. Lianna remembers looking at Avoca Cosmetology with she was studying and daydreaming of working with them on day.
